Plastic Free July at MLC Term 2 Week 9 2017

The College is proudly supporting Plastic Free July during the month of July (Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 3). Plastic Free July aims to raise awareness of the problems with single-use, disposable plastic, for example, landfill, littering and harm to marine life in particular, and challenges people to do something about it.

Students, staff and families are being encouraged to pledge support of a reduction in single-use plastics. There will be assembly items, a window display in the Walter Shepherd Resource Centre, posters and other activities around the College, including promotion of waste-free lunches. Please support your daughters by making changes such as packing waste-free lunches and avoiding single-use plastic shopping bags, coffee cups and water bottles wherever possible. A Waste Free Lunch Guide has been developed to offer some guidance. Reusable MLC water bottles are stocked in the Uniform Shop.
