This morning, I deposited two well-worn shirts into our shiny, new, on-site, donation bin. I trust that these are among the first of many donations that will be placed into the container during its lifespan.
Good Samaritan Industries (GSI) was established in 1958 as a ministry of the Perth Wesley Mission. Its mandate was, and is to find meaningful employment for people with disabilities. So while what most of us see are the donation bins, the retail stores and the Good Sammy trucks, the real story are the 5,000 people who have been helped by GSI over it’s nearly 60-year history.
The MLC Good Sammy donation bin is located in the Sumner undercroft on the Corry Lynn Road side of the building. All donations are gratefully accepted with an emphasis on clothing and non-breakable goods.
Two Boarding House students have agreed to be the ‘god-mothers’ of the bin to insure that the area around it stays neat and tidy.
We are proud to be partnered with a UnitingCare agency that is committed to demonstrating the love of God for each and every person, each and every day.
