Parent Support Groups

Methodist Ladies’ College has a long tradition of parental involvement in social and community based activities.

Your help provides a caring and supportive environment for the girls, and an array of opportunities for them that may not have been possible without you.

We hope your involvement will also leave you with many treasured memories and lifelong friendships.

Community Support Association

The Community Support Association (CSA) is an active and enthusiastic group that seeks to promote a spirit of friendship and cooperation in the College community by:

  • recruiting Year Coordinators who organise assistance for Class Teachers and arrange informal social functions where parents can meet other MLC families,
  • organising a number of social/fundraising functions throughout the year to support projects regarded as being of direct benefit to the students,
  • assisting at College functions when required,
  • running the second-hand book sale at the end of each year,
  • providing the Year 9 Community Support Association Award, gifts to all Year 12 students, Celebration prizes and various items as requested by the College,
  • compiling a volunteer register of parents able to offer support to the College community, and
  • organising the Parent Support System, which provides an evening meal for MLC families who are experiencing a personal crisis such as a bereavement.

Meetings are generally held twice a term on Thursdays at 8.45am in the College Meeting Room. Dates are published in the Calendar of Events and Parent Community News section. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Committee includes a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, with a total of 20 parents elected to the Committee at the Annual General Meeting.

Men of MLC

Men of MLC (MoMLC) is a group of enthusiastic and innovative dads, uncles, brothers, cousins and grandfathers, who enjoy being constructively involved in the students’ College lives.

The group aims to foster the dad-daughter relationship, and to build on the power of networking to provide enrichment and support in a variety of ways.

MoMLC is funded by the MLC Foundation.
