From the Deputy Principal

Absence by students for reasons other than illness, is strongly discouraged. Attendance at school is expected until the official closing of each term. All requests for special leave must be made in writing and addressed to your daughter’s Dean of Education. The Dean will duly reply to your request. If the special leave is granted, the Dean will set out expectations for your daughter in relation to keeping up with her school work during the period of absence and will also signal the potential impact of any significant events in the academic calendar that will be occurring during the student’s absence.

Felicitations Mrs Smith!

Mrs Vanessa Smith has been invited to make a presentation at the Business Educators of Australasia conference in Sydney early in October this year. Vanessa’s presentation will focus on multi-modal approaches to teaching and learning Economics, looking at a range of strategies that can help students engage with the subject. She will line up with Ken Henry, former Secretary of the Treasury and Ross Gittins, a prominent financial journalist who will be keynote speakers at the conference. Girls in her SoSE classes and colleagues in our SoSE Department will be keen to hear post conference reflections as these play back throughVanessa’s teaching.
